Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme Refresher (SSSTS-R)

Course Description

This course will suit you if you have previously passed the Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS). This refresher course brings your health and safety knowledge up to date, as well as giving a complete overview of the changes in legislation and its impact on the working environment and builds on the material learnt during the original course. During the course you will learn to implement any updated health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation, implementing new guidance and best practice and how to fulfil your responsibilities regarding health and safety.

SSSTS-R Course Aims & Objectives

The SSSTS Refresher course aims to help supervisors:

  • Supervise health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions and within the context of their role
  • Develop an understanding of responsibility and accountability for site health, safety and welfare of workers on site
  • Recognise that a safe site is efficient, economical, productive and environmentally friendly

At the end of the course, delegates will be aware of, and be able to implement or state:

  • Health, safety, welfare and legislation which affects them during their daily work
  • Up-to-date guidance and industry best practice
  • Duties and responsibilities for health, safety, and welfare

Attendance

Full attendance of the course is mandatory to achieve a pass.

Entry Requirements

The SSSTS refresher course is only for delegates who have previously passed the two-day Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course and can provide proof of successful attendance. If a delegate cannot provide a copy of their certificate, the online card checker can be used to establish if a delegate currently holds a valid SSSTS certificate. Click here.

Photographic ID will be requested by the tutor at the start of the course i.e. Driving Licence/Passport.

Please understand that it is a requirement of our Awarding Body – Site Safety Plus (CITB) that ALL delegates attending this course must be able to read and understand English. If you do not think you will have the sufficient English skills in order to pass the examination please contact us for advice.

Learner Numbers

The minimum number of delegates per course is 4. The maximum number of delegates per course is 20. These are a requirement of the awarding body and are not subject to appeal.

Site Safety Plus Course (SSP)

The CITB SSSTS Refresher is part of the Site Safety Plus courses suite. CITB Site Safety Plus provide a range of courses for people seeking to develop skills in the building, civil engineering and related industries. Designed from operative to senior manager level, they provide the skills you need to progress through the construction industry, from a one-day Health and Safety Awareness course to the five-day Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS). We also offer refresher courses so that workers are always kept up to date with the latest techniques and industry practice to be safe whilst carrying out their job. This course can also be delivered as an unaccredited course if required.
