Overview
This course provides the comprehensive training and assessment required for those working to install, inspect and remove excavation support systems.
AIMs
The course aims to provide the delegate with the EUSR card which remains valid for 3 years.
At the end of the course, the learner will be able to:
Recognise the risks and safety challenges associated with excavation activities.
Develop knowledge of soil classifications and site conditions you may encounter during groundworks.
Select appropriate ground support and retention systems suited to each project.
Complete excavation-focused risk assessments with assurance and accuracy.
Detect possible hazards and implement effective control measures to maintain a safe environment.
Build practical skills in the safe installation, inspection, and removal of timber, steel, and proprietary shoring systems.
Review and interpret temporary works designs to confirm structures are correctly and safely constructed.
Attendance:
Full attendance of the course is mandatory to achieve a pass.
Entry Requirements
Delegates must be competent in English at an operative level. The course content is suited to all ability levels.
Photographic ID will be requested by the tutor at the start of the course (e.g. Driving Licence/Passport).
Delegates must be at least 16 years old.
PPE – Please bring your own PPE, including helmet, gloves, hi-vis clothing, and steel-toe boots.
Learner Numbers
The maximum number of delegates per course is 8. This is a requirement of the awarding body and are not subject to appeal.
